Give to the future (if we’re still here)

What would you bottle for a future generation if you could bottle anything?

Would you bottle an emotion like joy, love, gratitude, or humility? Maybe the smell of a new born child, or the intoxicating smell of sweet-grass? Perhaps set of family values or a memory of times past?

If I could bottle my hopes and dreams for mankind.
I would remind them all there once was a time,
when importance was placed on a simpler way.
With gadgets switched off, kids were sent to play.
The big wide world is meant to explore.
Just leave your house you don’t have to be bored.
Be the king of hill or the one who is IT.
Play outside until the night makes you quit.
At the end of your day as you prepare for slumber,
you’ll think of the things you can make if there’s lumber.
Like a tree house, fort or maybe a boat.
The places you go, no matter how remote.

  1. Thanks for visiting my blog, Love your story, you tagged some stuff and your school made you take art classes! Sensible people in charge at that school.

  2. If I could bottle anything for myself it would be energy.

If I could bottle anything and give it to my child it would be empathy.

  4. cool image…and wonderful introduction to your blog and writing. Thanks for the visit to lightwriters (5wise.wordpress.com). I’ll be back!!

  5. Sweet poem, dude!

I think I’d bottle pure, unmitigated True Love. Because… ‘All you need is Love, Love. Love is all you need.’ If we could just get everyone to fall in Love with each other everything else would fall into place…

That or a REALLY great Prime Directive like from Star Trek that the WHOLE Universe willingly and successfully adhered, too. So, yeah, maybe I’d just bottle some episodes of Star Trek. 😊 lol

    I dunno? Good question?

  6. Powerful image… really beautiful picture, with a profound message. Thanks for sharing! And thanks for the nod to my blog,Thisisyourrealmotherspeaking. I really appreciate that. I’m not sure what to do with it, yet. I don’t know that many (15?) other bloggers/blogs very well, maybe only a handful! But now that my kids are in school and I’ll have more time, I’ll be checking out more of them. Thanks again. :)

This post just inspired me so much! I only just found this blog today and I must say it’s quite beautiful. You would do yourself a favor to go over and visit. :D Oh, and thanks for the reminder about what’s really important in life, f-Stop Fun. :D

  8. Good poem and picture. I would probably say my echoing words to my kids of “Treat others like you wanted to be treated,” but since life is so short, let me quote the words of Bill and Ted – “Be excellent to one another and party on dude.” Thanks for following my blog.

  9. LOVE this poem. I couldn’t agree more…simplicity has been lost somewhere along the way and it’s really sad. I’m brand new to the blogosphere and really appreciate you stopping by to check out my start. Thanks!
